CPVC Fire Sprinkler Litigation

CPVC pipe has long been used in fire sprinkler system installations. However, in the last few years, the failure rate of CPVC components used in such systems appears to have increased, especially in so called hybrid arrangements where CPVC is combined with metal. While defect suits have long been brought by condominium associations against any number of parties involved in the construction process, it is only in the last few years that CPVC concerns have been included. Now a handful of cases are making their way through the courts in Miami naming the makers and distributors of allegedly defective CPVC fire sprinkler components used in certain condominium buildings. Developers, general contractors and fire sprinkler installation contractors have also been drawn into this litigation.
